What BS6 is about
BS6 refers to India's Bharat Stage VI emission standards. The standards set limits for pollutants from vehicles and require manufacturers to use appropriate technologies to control emissions.

Petrol engine changes
Modern petrol vehicles can use direct injection, improved catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, particulate filters on some applications and more precise engine management. The exact hardware depends on the engine and vehicle category.
The ECU constantly adjusts combustion while monitoring the exhaust system. A warning light can therefore be related to an emissions component even when the engine still feels normal.
Diesel after-treatment
